Visualising London Marathon (part 2)

Finally the animation of the runners along the London Marathon route is working, and it took endless versions and data animation approaches to get to this stage. This is the raw version that just shows the runners going at their own speeds (data from the 2014 results), and the final one with bells and whistles will come later.  Here’s the plain version with just the route and the runners:


One should have guessed that my original plan of using curvePoint on curveVertex did not turn out to work in the way I intended, but it just produced wibbly blobs (I am pretty sure that is the technical term) on the screen. It’s all part of the learning process…
